Dear Grandpa
I just completed a financial coach training session that asked me to remember a person that had been a great guide in my life.
Hands down, it was my mother's dad, Maurice. He was creative, encouraging, loving, gracious, giving, and inspiring. I was happy to recall all he did to help me grow as a person.
It then asked me to write a letter to this person, and send it, and my heart sank. He passed in 2006. I am instead posting it here.
Dear Grandpa,
Thank you for showing me how unique I was. Thank you for being there to cheer me on when I was facing challenges, and thank you for teaching me to create and how to be creative. Thank you for asking me what I thought, and finding my input valuable. Thank you for teaching me the value of the written word, and teaching me that money is not the most important thing in life, people are.
Love,
Your Granddaughter
